The best January sales, my fave TUI deals and cheap Premium Economy flights to New York ✈️
Your new weekly travel roundup 🎉
Starting a newsletter was on my to do list for 2023 and nothing quite says ‘I love cutting it fine’ than sending out the first in the last week of the year!
But what a week to begin, what with the Boxing Day and January sales leaping to action the second Christmas was over. That’s what I’ll be taking you through this week - my favourite deals and how to check the offers are actually any good.
Plus, in this newsletter and in future editions too, I’ll be sharing money saving tips, travel inspiration and basically anything that gets my cheap holiday heart racing.
So, here’s what’s coming up:
My top picks from the January sales 💰
Viral Vacay: can I find a cheaper alternative to the Icelandic glass cabin? ❄️
How to check you’ve found a good deal 🧐
My deal of the week: cheap Premium Economy flights 💅

My top picks from the January sales
With Black Friday offers being slung about just a month ago, it almost feels too soon to have another wave of deals on our doorsteps - but here they are!
After scouring what’s on offer, a big difference I’ve found is that there are less offers overall, but more deals on big ticket items like package holidays. For the travel companies offering them, January bookings are their bread and butter so it makes sense that they want to lure you in.
Therefore, if you’re in the market for your next holiday, it’s definitely a good time to check out what’s on offer.
Speaking of which…

How to check you’ve found a good deal
Finding a good deal is one thing, but it’s also worth checking whether the offer is actually saving you money. This is where I get to feel a bit like a hacker, opening up multiple tabs as I cross check prices and dates.
I promise, just taking a few extra minutes to check will be so worth it when you find the best price. There’s nothing quite like that finding a bargain feeling!

My deal of the week
This one’s for my fellow delusionists who also dream of a time when they’re not sitting elbow to elbow in Economy. Well, perhaps our luck is about to change with this deal I spotted this week… 👀
What’s the deal?
A 3 night stay in New York with Premium Economy British Airways flights in February.
What’s the damage?
£755pp (you’ll need to tap ‘Change Filters’ to change the date to 26th Feb and select ‘Premium Economy’ under ‘Cabin’ to show this deal)
Why is it a good deal?
The same holiday in economy would cost you £513pp (not bad!) meaning you’re only paying £121 each way to upgrade to Premium Economy.
Also, if you were to book the Premium Economy flights on their own, it would cost you £1903pp.
Yes, really.
What else should I know?
For this price, you’ll be staying at Pod Brooklyn. I stayed there last year and whilst it is compact (it was giving uni hall vibes) it is clean, comfy and incredibly well placed for exploring Brooklyn. I loved it! However, there are lots of other options for a few quid more.
How long will this deal last?
The British Airways sale is on until 30th January but I don’t expect these rates to hang around too long.
And that’s a wrap!
That’s all for our first instalment - thanks if you made it this far and why not let me know you did so by answering the poll below ⬇️
