Viral Vacay 📲

Where we track down the accommodation that’s gone viral, find out how much it actually costs and if needs be, suggest a cheaper alternative 🕵️‍♀️

What is it?
An incredible underwater villa in the Maldives.

How viral?
An eye-popping 86.3 million views - on Kara and Nate’s Instagram alone!

How much?
A night at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Islands costs a ridiculous £15,300 per night.

Cheaper alternative?
Dubai’s Atlantis The Palm is famous for its underwater suites (from £4900 a night) but a little more affordable (emphasis on the little) is a stay in a ‘Premier Room with Underwater View’ InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland for £932 per night.

Cheaper still?
Sure, your underwater view is into a pool rather than the sea, but who are we to argue when it only costs £120 a night?! Plus, it’s a lush suite in Mykonos with a hot tub too!

STOP! Check your passport NOW!

Did that get your attention?! I HOPE SO PAL. The thing is, now that the UK is no longer in the EU, some of the rules have changed and you might not have realised that they could impact you and your travel plans.

The main issue is around the length of time for which your passport is valid when you’re travelling to the EU. It’s caught out so many people, and they often don’t realise until they’re at the airport and being turned away 😭

The new rules are a little confusing but don’t worry, we’ve got a whole article that goes into this in depth, so have a read and make sure you’re good to go.

Rule change! Is my passport in date?

Check your passport is valid for your upcoming holidays, so that you can travel without a hitch.

How long does it take to renew my passport?

We checked how long you can expect it to take for your new passport to arrive.

My deal of the week 🚎

I am a huge fan of travelling by bus, coach and train because they will often drop you off bang smack in your destination of choice.

And if you’re in the market for a UK getaway without the car, there’s a couple of bus and coach deals on at the moment which can help you keep costs down.

£2 FlixBus tickets for UK trips

To celebrate their third anniversary of operating in the UK, FlixBus have knocked down the price of a load of their routes but you need to book by Sunday 21st April!

But it’s not just FlixBus having a sale - oh no. They’re all at it! Yesterday I got an email that Megabus are peddling out their own offer in the next month too.

Score £5 Megabus fares in Mega May

To celebrate… May… Megabus are offering ‘£5 or less’ tickets for one way journeys as long as they’re on a Tuesday or Wednesday in May!

A big win is that both companies serve airports as well as towns and cities, and so it could be a great way to get to your onwards travel for a fraction of the price!

What’s got the team excited this week? 🥳

Chelsea: After coming back from Tunisia last week, I had no travel plans in the diary… Until I may have spotted some mega cheap flights and booked them rightaway 😂

But I am SO EXCITED about it because I’m going to finally try and tick off a budget challenge that’s been on my list for ages. It’s going to be difficult to get it all in price, but if I can pull it off, I’ll be so chuffed.

See if you can guess where I’m off to by answering this week’s poll below and keep an eye on my socials to follow me on my trip! It will be around the second week of May 👀

And that’s a wrap!

That’s all for this week thanks if you made it this far and why not let me know you did so by answering the poll below ⬇️

That awkward moment when you ask your housemate to take a quick photo and he takes so long that a whole queue of people have gathered to watch behind him 😭😂
