Okay, okay. I also scoff when I see marketing strap lines such as āthis foot rest will make your economy seat feel like business classā butttttā¦ Having tested a few of these budget flight āenhancersā, I can vouch for the fact that they can make a big difference.

With every airline having different baggage allowances, it can be so confusing about what you can bring on board for free. But donāt worry, weāve got it covered for ya.
However, it would be disingenuous to suggest that I stick to the rules each and every time. I always travel with a 45L backpack which Iām still yet to get charged with so Iāve also got some help for those of you hoping to push the boundaries a little tooā¦

My deal of the week
Finding a cheap family holiday - especially in the school holidays - can be a bit of a task and so this week, I wanted to highlight not one but two deals you can use to whittle the price down!
Whatās the deal?
The first deal is to book a free child place holiday. This is a type of holiday deal where, when two full paying adults book a holiday, a child can also go at no extra cost.
Iām sure loads of you know about this already but did you realise that some companies will let you team this up with other offers?
For example, TUI is currently running a sale where you can save up to Ā£270 on your holiday (terms and conditions apply!) and so I decided to see what bargains I could find for this summer šµļøāāļø

The deals are more expensive when I click through!
TUI show the price per person based on the 2 adults only so donāt be alarmed if it seems the price looks like it has jumped up! When you divide the total cost by how many people are going, youāll see how we got our prices š
Also, donāt forget to sign up to a free MYTUI account and click on āMy Benefitsā to find a discount code that you may well be able to use to bring the cost down further.
The free child place is no longer available š
Sadly, these free child places wonāt hang around forever. Thereās only so many of them! But my top tip here is to scroll down to the calendar at the bottom of the deal youāve found and tap on the dates. Just make sure it says ā1 x free child placeā in green underneath the price total at the top to make sure youāve found a date with that deal.
How long will this deal hang around for?
The free child place offer is always kicking about, but the extra TUI discount weāve referenced here will end on 29th Feb 2024.

Look mum, Iām on the telly!
From time to time, something Iāve done in the past starts popping off again and this week, itās the time James and I decided to test whether our cheap all inclusive hotel was watering down our drinks š
